Alan presents music from the world of the Big Screen, Theatre and Stage on a sunday evening between 22:00
and midnight.
He would love us all to believe the evocative notion that he was born in a trunk, backstage in a theatre
while his family were touring, but unfortunatly it's just not that way at all. He was born in Birkenhead,
Merseyside, and it's years treading the boards as an aspiring actor that has developed the soft rounded
tones that grace our ears each sunday evening during Music of the Night.
Alan wanted, from a young age, to entertain - turning first to music and then the piano, and following his
time at university continued to entertain whilst teaching English in Finland for three years. On returning
to England he joined a childrens theatre company, which Alan describes as 'Strolling Players' offering
'Entertainment and Education'.
During this period Alan worked in publishing and discovered his gift for Public Relations. Today he is
communications manager for British Gas.
Alan first got in contact with Radio Victory in his British Gas capacity to arrange sponsorship of the
stations regular Community Connections feature.
