How to Receive Radio Victory

From the station manager - Mark Samways

Let me, along with everyone else at Radio Victory, welcome you to our web site.

Many people ask me "What is Radio Victory?", "How do I get it?" I think the first part of the question is well answered in other parts of this site so I will just concentrate on How To Get Radio Victory.

Radio Victory is a 'Cable Exclusive Service', sounds grand, but it more simply means we are available to anyone who is a subscriber to Cable Television in South and South East Hampshire. An area from Netley in the west to Emsworth in the east. An area which moves north from Portsea Island to include Denmead, Waterlooville, Leigh Park, Horndean, Clanfield northwards to Liss.

A cable TV subscriber in the area described can find us both on cable television and cable radio. Cable TV channel 50 (the all channel listings guide) and other selected television channels at different times throughout the week. So we are very easy to find. The cable radio is the term that raises the most eyebrows... yes cable radio, a second aerial connection from the 'set top' channel selection box which is plugged into the aerial socket of your hifi's tuner (radio). It even works if you use the lead provided by the installation team when the core of the aerial cable is wrapped around the extendable antenna of a standard radio receiver. Tune the radio or tuner on the FM waveband to 95.6 Mhz - Radio Victory!

That's simply how to benefit from all our hard work!

Step One

Live in South or East Hampshire

Step Two

Become a Cable and Wireless subscriber

Step Three

Tune into channel 50 (and other selected channels through the day)

Step Four

Tune into 96.5 Cable FM Radio

Step Five

Sit back and enjoy the widest range of programmes and music to be found on any local radio station in the country

I hope this has been of some small help and look forward to seeing your name on our listener phone in log which is kept in our main on air presentations studio.

Radio Victory and Channel 50

How to listen to Radio Victory in uninterrupted stereo

Radio Victory now shares Cable & Wireless channel 50 (TVToday) with Cable and Wireless' own trailers known as TVInfo, which are broadcast every few minutes. If you wish to listen to Radio Victory in clear uninterrupted stereo then you can via cable radio. A connection should have been made between the white box located on your wall (which your CATV converter is connected to) and the aerial socket on the back of your HiFi's tuner when your cable television was installed. With this connection made you will find Radio Victory is added to the FM band on your tuner at 95.60 Mhz along with stereo soundtracks to other cable television channels.

If this connection, known as "FM hook up", has not been made or you are having trouble receiving us on cable radio then contact Cable & Wireless customer services on 0345 114455 for advice and (if necessary) to arrange installation.

Remember that the only way to listen to Radio Victory in stereo is via FM hook up. Cable & Wireless do not encode the Radio Victory signal on channel 50 into NICAM so you will not hear us in stereo on channel 50, even if you have a stereo television.
